800 Grams of Hashish Mysteriously Appear Inside Australian
(1com Thai News)
A 51 year old Australian tourist named John Paul Jones was rushed to a hospital in Koh Samui after experiencing stomach pains. Doctors X-rayed his abdomen and noticed a group of objects that appeared like a string of sausages inside his intestines.
Dr. Worapob Sutiwatanaruput, who supervised the surgery, said “We found 62 black objects obstructing his small intestine. Three packs had burst.” The objects turned out to be condoms filled with 800 grams of hashish. Each object was about two inches long. The surgery took two hours to complete. Mr. Jones remains in critical condition.
Vinai Buapradit, provincial governor of the Koh Samui area suggested that Mr. Jones had intentionally swallowed the drugs outside of Thailand and was smuggling them to Koh Samui to sell during the full moon festival. Mr. Jones will be detained by police for investigation and will be charged with drug trafficking. Police stated that many local and foreign gangs operate in Koh Samui, not only selling drugs, but participating in illegal land and property deals as well as extortion.
Police in Koh Samui last year arrested a 53 year old French tourist named Pittet Pasca Maorica after discovering a full kilogram of heroin in his stomach when he also experienced abdominal pain.
