Thai Airline Prices to Soar
Turbulent oil prices are causing the cost of flying to jump. On Wednesday there will be a meeting of low-cost carriers to discuss the current situation.
One Two Go airlines has seen fuel prices increase 30% in the first quarter, and has already raised fares. Other low cost airlines are experiencing the same problem. Air fares are rising across the board.
Some airlines are creating a marketing campaign with hotels to lure customers. Customers will receive discounts on fares and hotel stays for booking them together.
According to air Asia CEO, the global oil situation has had a drastic effect on the airline business. Even Thai airlines, who is not a low cost carrier, is raising fares.
