ASC wants Thaksin’s assets seized
The Assets Scrutiny Committee (ASC) went after Thaksin with yet another case against X-PM Thaksin Shinawatra on Monday, charging the X-PM with corruption and abuse-of-power and asked the Supreme Court to permanently seize all 76+ billion baht it has frozen from him and the Shinawatra family. The ASC charges need a court ruling to seize the 76.6 billion baht. The charges against Mr Thaksin is that he had abused Power and committed various malfeasance, “to reap otherwise unattainable profits for himself and his family as well as among a wider circle of relatives,” the ASC spokesman said, Concealment and transfer Shin Corp stocks, Ample Rich Investment Co and the Winmark Co from Mr Thaksin, Khunying Potjaman, to their children. ASC claims the family made unjust gains from Excise Tax shelter for Shin Corp and unjust gains by AIS over the State Telecom TOT Corp system. Mr Thaksin had also unduly made out from an iPSTAR satellite project by a 4 billion baht loan by the Export-Import Bank to Burma, in exchange for the purchase of a Shin Satellite system by the Burmese dictatorship.
