Toyota Camry Hybrid to be built in Thailand in late 2009. Toyota Motor Corp. Thailand will be manufacturing electric hybrid cars in Thailand due to Thai demand for fuel-efficient vehicles. Hybrids save on petrol by using both a gasoline engine and an electric motor.
The worlds 2nd largest car-maker, projected to be #1 by 2010, projects in will sell 1,000,000 Toyota Camry Hybrids by 2011. Toyota first started manufacturing Toyota Hybrids in 1997.
Toyota Australia was subsidized by Government of Australia in the tune of $70,000,000 dollars to pitch in on higher manufacturing costs of the new Toyota Camry Hybrid.
