Heath Ledger, Academy-Oscar award for ‘The Joker in The Dark Knight’ ???
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is contemplating giving an award to Heath Ledger, posthumously, for his role as The Joker in The Dark Knight. The buzz is that the sympathetic members of his extended family and fans think he “was” an over the top Joker so a good performance plus dead equals an Oscar. Accidental OD, suicide, or just dying doesn’t equate to an Oscar for what turns out to be your last performance. I loved him in the movie where he played a medieval fake knight with the great rock and roll soundtrack. It opened with We Will Rock You by Queen. He should have gotten an Oscar for that movie.
Heath Ledger should only be eligible for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for the role based on merit. Being troubled and dying in the prime of your life does not warrant an award for excellence. Using the emotional logic in play here I should get one for surviving so long watching the tripe that comes out of Hollywood. A Lifetime Career Achievement Oscar for sitting through chic movies like What Dreams May Come starring Robin Williams. I still see flat faces on the floor of hell in MY dreams. Who can forget the bitch who slept with everyone in a single family who ultimately caused unhappiness and death in Legends of the Fall. Two hours of pure hell starring Brad Pitt. Not Cool! I ended up dumping a perfect 11 on the 10 scale for her insistence that I see an indie film by Robert Redford in 1988 called The Milagro Beanfield War. I still think about that girl and that Dumbass movie. I actually “acted” interested but after an appropriate amount of time had passed (about 48 hours) I dumped the beauty. What a body she had! Where’s my Oscar? I had twice as much invested in that relationship as Ledger has in the Dark Knight!
I implore every movie fan around the world prevent this potential travesty. The Academy needs heroes. These heroes need to exemplify excellence. Dying young is neither excellent or unusual nor is it cause for canonization. Next a special award will be proposed to honor the death of a stripper who made good by marrying a crippled old millionaire, had a reality show where she took hard drugs, was always drunk, who was a role model for future prostitutes everywhere and who liked Academy Awards after parties. “This year the Academy presents this special Oscar posthumously to the late Anna Nichole Smith”.
Do not let death at a young age become criteria for an Oscar. The Academy needs to ensure the Oscars are not trivialized. Canada has its annual Feminist Porn Awards. The United states has awards for everything including Daytime Emmys and even awards for making a good commercial. There are so many beauty pageants no one watches them anymore. If you agree please send your comments to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences via this web link: http://www.oscars.org/contact/general.html

I miss the guy that gives advise and opinions about business in Thailand. Buy low, sell high, made my tons of money.
The writer who does your editorials like the one about Heath Ledger is incredibly funny. Please pay him enough to never lose him.
Thanks for listening.
