Thaksin not to return to Thailand from China Olympics Visit, voluntary exile for Thaksin
An inside government source has said that Thaksin has made a deal with Thai government officials not to return back to Thailand after a recently approved short visit to China for the Olympics this week. Thaksin was to return to Thailand after a short visit to China to face more court dates for ongoing criminal corruption charges.

Thaksin had asked the court for permission to allow him to travel to China for the opening Olympic Ceremonies and a visit to Japan from July 31st to August 10th. Thaksin’s wife Pojaman will travel to China from August 5th to 10th.
The alleged deal will minimize Thailand’s current political and economic instability and save Thaksin from embarrassing extradition processes. Thaksin will most likely forfeit £800million of his assets frozen in Thailand.
