Thailand’s Constitution Court Tuesday found Prime Minister Samak guilty in violation of the Thai constitution by hosting 2 cooking shows. The Thai judges ruled that Samak must step down as Thai Prime Minister.
The Thai Constitution court ruling was unanimously that ruled against PM Samak as to disqualify him as Thailand’s prime minister.
The Thai Constitution Court based its ruling on the Thai Constitution was written to prevent conflicts of interest on part of Cabinet members, therefore PM Samak violated the Charter of the Thai Constitution by hosting the TV shows. The 9 Constitution Court judges noted Article 267 of the Constitution for prohibiting cabinet members from activities that deem to be a conflict of interest.
The entire Cabinet also lost its status but other Cabinet members became caretaker ministers until new Cabinet is found, the court ruled.
