Thailand joins the patrol in the Straits of Malacca
Thailand is the 4th SE Asian country to join in the patrol in the Straits of Malacca, says the Singapore Defense Ministry.
A ceremony was held today for the Terms of Reference for the Malacca Straits Patrols Joint Coordinating Committee in Bangkok today. Present at the ceremony today in Bangkok were armed forces chiefs of Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore have been working together on maritime security in the Straits of Malacca and the Straits of Singapore since 2004.
