Abhisit elected Thailand’s 27th Prime Minister
Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva was voted in as Thailand’s 27th prime minister by a majority of 235-198 votes in Monday’s special session of the House.
Abhisit’s ‘Mark’ Vejjajiva was born August 3rd, 1964 in Newcastle, England. Abhisit has 2 sisters, Abhisit is the youngest of 3 children. His parents were medical doctors and medical professors.
Abhisit studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford University in England. Abhisit received a Master’s degree in Economics from Oxford University. Abhisit also attended Ramkamhaeng University in Bangkok where he studied Thai law and obtained a law degree in 1990.
Abhisit entered politics at the age of 27. Abhisit has dedicated his time and interest to the pursuit of his dream, to transform Thailand’s political system for the better.
