Pig Flu News Still Bad
Swine flu continues to spread in Thailand with no sign of letting up. Deputy Minister of Public Health Manit Nopamornbordee added confirmation of 157 new (H1N1) influenza virus cases Saturday afternoon, bringing Thailand’s swine flu infections to a total of 3,228.
Mr Manit stated that the flu death toll remained unchanged with 15 deaths and 6 flu patients in critical condition.
Also on Saturday, the director general of Thailand’s Medical Services Department Rewat Wissaratawes stated that 10 patients who have developed swine flu like symptoms were in the process of being housed in special wards for treatment and for being watched for signs of infection.
Swine flu vaccinations are not yet available.
