Thai Electronics Firms Hiring
The Thai electronics industry has as many as 5,000 job openings for semi-skilled workers in the industrial center of Ayutthaya province, the Federation of Thai Industries announced Monday.
Ayutthaya is home to a group of electronics producers and even worldwide brands, such as US-based Western Digital (WD), Canon, and others. Nearly half of the province’s total number of 240,000 manufacturing employees is working in the electronics sector.
The electronics industry was cruelly hit by the worldwide recession, laying off 27,000 since 2008.
Recently however, export orders have rebounded in the second quarter, allowing electronics companies to begin hiring again.
