Mosque Mass Murder Suspect Named
Thai Police have issued an arrest warrant for one of the alleged gunmen in the deadly attack at the Al-Furgan mosque in Narathiwat’s Cho-Airong locality on June 8, where 10 attending worshipers were shot to death and 12 others wounded.
Revenge seems to be the motive.
According to Pol Lt-Gen Peera Phumphichet, of the southern border area police, the wanted man is Sutthirak Kongsuwan, 44.
He stated at a press conference Friday afternoon that police had assembled good evidence that Mr Sutthirak, residing in Narathiwat’s Muang district, was among the gunmen who had attacked the mosque.
The suspect had relatives who had been slain by Muslim militants, he said.
