Mitsubishi Plugging Into Electric Car Revolution
Mitsubishi Motors, The Japanese car maker has lobbied the Thai Industry Ministry for government support for manufacturing its lithium battery cars.

Mitsubishi has recommend that the Industry ministry should push local manufacture toward battery-powered vehicles and add the product as a strategic direction for the nation’s 2010-2015 automotive plans.

The ministry is currently drafting its five-year strategic plan as a working guideline for the automotive industry.

In addition to granting privileges, the government should convince investors to support local construction of this car, stated Nobuyuki Murahashi, president of Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand).

He added that constructing parts to supply the industry as well as new public infrastructure, for instance, charging stations, need to be planned also.
