Internal Security Act Targets Red Shirts
The Thai government refuses to rescind the imposing of the Internal Security Act in Dusit area even though the red shirts have cancelled their arranged giant anti-government rally on Sunday.
Prime Minister Abhisit Vejajjiva persevered on Saturday afternoon that the law will continue to be maintained to guarantee peace and order.
The P.M. admitted that he had did not know why the leaders of the pro-Thaksin United front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) dropped their anti-government meeting plan.
Mr Abhisit also stated that he will call a conference of the internal security units next week to talk about measures to reduce red shirt gatherings because UDD leaders said they would have an anti-government rally on September 5.
