His Majesty Improves
Thailand’s Princess Chulabhorn explained to a gathering at the Thai embassy in Berlin yesterday that His Majesty the King’s condition was improving.
It is the first time a member of the royal family had spoken publicly about His Majesty’s condition since he was first admitted to Siriraj Hospital because of inflammation of the lungs back on Sept 19.
Princess Chulabhorn told the audience that the King had had a high fever throughout his first week in the hospital which confined him to his bed.
“His Majesty was out of strength when he had the high fever. But now his temperature has come down,” she told those present.
His latest X-rays show that the fluid in his lungs is gone.
“Now, His Majesty speaks and takes his meals almost as normal. He has a very healthy appetite,” she added.
