Thai King Appears in Public
His Majesty the King of Thailand made a public appearance Friday afternoon by leaving his hospital room at Siriraj hospital to pay homage to the royal statues of his father and mother which stand in front of the hospital where he is staying.
The King sat on a wheelchair and in a light blue shirt, showing a smile and acknowledging his well-wishers.
He also and visited a photographic exhibition held at the hospital in remembrance of his late mother, Princess Srinagarinda.
His public appearance enlivened the other people visiting and working at the hospital and they cheered, adding best wishes for his complete recovery and hopes for his return to health.
His Majesty The King is 81. He entered the hospital for treatment of a lung infection 34 days ago. This was his first appearance since that time.
