Hopeful Signs in Thai Economy
According to Thailand’s Finance Ministry’s forecast issued on Tuesday, The Thai economy will definitely get better and the gross domestic product could turn upward into positive territory in the final quarter of 2009.
Government Finance Ministry spokesperson Akeniti Nititanprapas told reporters that the GDP in the third quarter was expected to contract less than 4%, leaving a net -3% at the end of the year.
He cautioned that rising anxiety stemming from current anti-government rallies could hinder expenditures and investments.
He went on to say,” The ministry’s projection that this year’s economy will shrink three per cent does not include any political assessment.”
Hopefully he said that The shortage of raw materials had decreased for many manufacturers.
