Thaksin Twitters, Texts, and Touts TV for Thailand
Former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra sent text messages to all of his most devoted followers and supporters throughout Thailand on Sunday morning.
Thaksin’s SMS message said, “I’m glad to talk with you. I’m living in Dubai and I’m well. I think of you and thank you for your moral support.”
Only one mobile phone operator was able to transmit his message.

The deposed premier who was removed by a military coup, touching off continuous chaos in Thai society ever since, also launched 100 television channels on the internet later the same day.

At one of the channels, people will be able to contact him directly by SMS and his twitter site.

Mr Noppadon, Thaksin’s legal adviser and spokesperson, said the TV channels will exist for the benefit of the Thai populace, and will not threaten national security.
