Derailed Train in Bangkok Raises Eyebrows
A train derailment has occurred at Bang Sue station in Bangkok after a switching mistake. No injuries were reported.
a train bound from Bangkok to Kaeng Khoi in Saraburi was forced off the rails Sunday around sunrise when a second train was switched to the same line too early, according to State Railway of Thailand governor Yutthana Thapcharoen.
Railway workers believed the Kaeng Khoi train had passed, so shunted the new train on to the line. They moved too quickly, as the last cars of the first train had yet to clear the zone.
There is no indication that recent labor problems had any connection to the derailment.
