Small and Medium Enterprises Bank Issues Report
The latest statistics as to the total value of loans supported by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Bank (SMEs Bank) during the first 10 months of this year increased by 99.96 per cent over the same period during last year, reaching 33.61 billion baht, the bank’s president Soros Sakornwissawa announced on Wednesday.
Mr Soros said,”The loans helped 7,282 manufacturers access financial resources, preserved 78,143 jobs and created 1,287 new manufacturers.”
36 per cent of the loans were to producers in the manufacturing sector, 21 per cent went to retail and wholesale companies, 16 per cent to the hotel and restaurant sector.
This indicated that the SME Bank complied with the Industry Ministry’s policies of providing financial aid for the SMEs that have been affected by the worldwide financial collapse, he said.
