Red Shirts Deny Threatening Abhisit
Chiang Mai’s red-shirts have no plan to assassinate Prime Minister Abhisit, the group’s leaders Kanyaphak Maneechak maintained on Saturday.
Mrs Kanyaphak asserted that a DJ of the red-shirts’ community radio station, Petcharawat Watthanapong, was only joking when he said he would bomb Mr. Abhisit during an upcoming visit to Chiang Mai.
She claimed that the government was slandering Chiang Mai red-shirts to validate its plan to use police and military to attack the antigovernment protesters.
Mrs Kanyaphak added, “The red-shirts are not happy with the Chiang Mai visiting plan by the prime minister.”
