Former Thai Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej has Died
Former Thai Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej has died of liver cancer Tuesday morning at Bamrungraj hospital, Sumitr Sundaravej, his younger brother has announced.

Mr Samak, 74, was the country’s 25th prime minister. He was the leader of the now disbanded People Power Party. He was prime minister as well as defense minister from Jan 29, 2008 to Sept 9, 2008.
Mr Samak, who was often considered to be a mere stand in for former P.M. Thaksin was ruled to be disqualified from the prime ministership when a court found that he had breached the law by working for a private firm while in office as a result of his being the host of a popular cooking program on TV and receiving payment for that position.
He was also a former governor of Bangkok and a founding member of the Prachakorn Thai Party.
He is remembered for his colorful language which tended to shock Thai sensibilities.
