More than 70 per cent of Thai people think Thailand’s economy is worsening, according to an opinion survey by Suan Dusit Rajabhat University released on Saturday.
The opinion poll called “People’s confidence in economic recovery”, questioned 1,327 people, and had been conducted from Dec 1 to 3.
56.55 per cent of those respondending to the poll said their household expenses are increasing, 49.70 per cent of them claimed that they had the same income.
Only 21.04 per cent approved of the government’s policy to help lessen the cost of living for low-income people. 33.93 per cent thought the government’s economic recovery policy had failed.
49.90 per cent did not believe that the country’s economy would grow 3 to 3.5 percent in 2010 as announced by the government.
