Drugs, Drugs, Drugs, Two Arrested
Two men, alleged to be members of a gang linked to alleged drugs kingpin Wei Sia Kang are under arrest for possessing a large quantity of illicit drugs, including heroin, valued at more than 500 million baht.
The two suspects are named Arthit (also known as Tee) Sae Tao, 26, from Chiang Mai’s Chiang Dao district, and Kuangyung sae Jao, 28, from Bangkok’s Khannayao area.
Seized in the raid were 1.98 million speed pills, 2kg of crystal methamphetamine and approximately 3.5kg of heroin. Police have said it is the biggest drug arrest ever in Bangkok involving multiple types of drugs and narcotics.
The arrest took place on Tuesday at the Fashion Island shopping mall on Ram Intra Road in Bangkok.
Undercover Narcotics Suppression Bureau police posing as customers caught the two men, according to NSB deputy chief Atithep Panjamanond, who led the officers in the arrest of the suspects.
The drugs are thought to have originated in Burma.
