His Majesty The King Meets with New Cabinet Members
The King yesterday held an audience with the five new Thai government cabinet ministers at Chalerm Phrakiat Building in Siriraj Hospital.
The five new ministers are Deputy Prime Minister Trairong Suwannakhiri, Public Health Minister Jurin Laksanavisit, Education Minister Chinnaworn Boonyakiat, Deputy Transport Minister Suchart Chokechaiwattanakorn and Deputy Public Health Minister Phansiri Kullanartsiri.
The five, accompanied by Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva, promised their allegiance to the King.
His Majesty replied by saying it was customary for new ministers to vow to do their work honestly for the sake of the nation but what mattered for the most part was that they kept to their word.
If they fall short in this, then the blame would fall upon the whole government. However, if they do well, they would add to the nation’s prosperity and benefit from peace.
Honest work would help the ministers because it would carry public admiration to them, His Majesty the King said.
