Bank Hopes Baht Won’t Take a Bath
The Bank of Thailand should take care that the Thai baht’s value stays at between 33 to 34 baht per US dollar, Manoon Siriwan, an energy authority, said on Saturday.
“If the Thai currency is weaker than that levels, it could affect domestic retail prices of fuel”, Mr Manoon said, adding that every one baht in value change of the baht would shape the boost or the decline in local pump prices by 0.60 baht per liter.
The energy specialist anticipates oil price on the world market to stay at about US$70 per barrel for the next week.
Kasikornthai Research Centre anticipated the Thai Baht value would stand at around 32.90 to 33.20 baht per US dollar through next week.
