Cops Kill Drug Dude
A Thai drug trafficker known as Manop Chaengkhlai, 39, an inhabitant of Suphan Buri, was shot to death on Rama II Road after exchanging gunfire with police.
Police had been chasing after the man and say that at first it seemed as if he was prepared to surrender.
Unexpectedly, he pointed a gun at the police officers, who then fired in self-defense, said NSB commandant Adithep Panjamanon.
The police officers had trailed him from a Big C branch in Samut Prakan’s Bang Phli district, where he distributed drugs, to the expressway’s exit which is hooks up to Rama II Road.
Even after being shot four times, the man still endeavored to escape. He managed to get into a car but died there sooner than he could escape, said Pol Lt Gen Adithep.
A total of 50,000 methamphetamine tablets were discovered in Manop’s pickup truck, he said.
