Seizure of Suspected Speed Sellers
Thai Police have seized another 1.6 million methamphetamine tablets at a residence on Theparak Road in the latest of a succession of concentrated efforts against drug sellers which started on Thursday.
Samrong Nua police searched a house on the Ban Rom Pho 2 estate and found the speed tablets along with 2kg of crystal methamphetamine concealed under a bed on the second floor. No arrests were made throughout the operation.
According to a preliminary search, the home had been rented for a month and is believed to have been used to temporarily stockpile the drugs ahead of being sold. An intelligence operation has been in progress for some time on the supposed members of a drug gang, but its affiliates are still at large, as said by deputy national police boss Pol Gen Priewpan Damapong.
Police officers also searched a close house in the same village, but discovered nothing. They think gang suspects knew of their looming arrival and escaped.
