Deadly GT200 Hoax Device to be Tested
The inquiry into the efficacy of the highly contentious GT200 bomb detector took its first steps on Wednesday.
The Prime Ministers cabinet on Tuesday told the Science and Technology Ministry to set up a team of experts and begin immediate tests on the device.
The GT200 is merely a dowsing rod device with a swiveling antenna-like pointer that sometimes swivels wildly when the handle is slightly moved by the operator. This is referred to as the “ideo-motor” effect and has been proven to be completely useless for over 100 years.
The Thai Military purchased more than 500 of the worthless devices for about $27,000 dollars apiece, but refuses to acknowledge the simple fact that there is nothing about the device that has any ability to receive any data about the presence of chemicals. Dowsing rod hoaxes were popular in much of the western world during the 19th century.
