Election, What Election?
Thai Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban on Monday ruled out the likelihood a general ballot vote in the near future, saying that the regime wants to spend its residual time in office working to build up the economy.
Mr Suthep was replying to queries about Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva’s remark that he supposed that the Democrat Party could win as many as 240 seats in the next election.
He said Mr Abhisit was not suggesting that a general election was forthcoming. The prime minister was only making an appraisal of how the Democrats would fare in the next election.
No elections are scheduled by the current unelected government anytime in the foreseeable future.
