Thaksin Twitters While Traveling
Thailand’s fugitive former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra on Saturday posted a message on his Twitter page “Xin Zheng Ruyi Xin Nian Facai”, wishing a happy New Year to all Thai-Chinese people on the occurrence of the Chinese New Year.
“I ask for a permission (from Thai people) to journey to earn my living. I will visit Africa for 4-5 days and then will return to Dubai to wait to see whether I will receive justice there”, Thaksin reported.
“If someone spreads a rumor that I will be in Cambodia, please don’t believe it”.
Thaksin was speaking in reference to the case that the Thai Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Holders of Political Positions which on Feb 26 will decide whether his 76 billion baht of assets should be confiscated.
The ex-premier protested that he was unfairly treated by the now defunct Assets Scrutiny Committee and that the unelected power holders are trying to seize his money.
