Golf Green Rouses Red Shirts Wrath
Red shirted anti-government supporters assembled in front of the Bangkok Bank’s head office on Silom Road area on Friday, causing the bank to close for business about noon out of apprehension for the safety of customers and employees.
the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) claims that Gen Prem Tinsulanonda, the bank’s honorary chairman, helped arrange funding for a golf course that impinges on Khao Soi Dao forest reserve in Chanthaburi province. The also blamed Gen Prem of being involved in the 2006 coup that removed Thaksin Shinawatra.

500 police were positioned at the bank and close by. Police chiefs said they would not to use force against the demonstrators.

UDD leader Weng Tochirakarn got on an improvised stage to lay blame on the bank’s executives of funding the intrusion on Khao Soi Dao. He called on bank staff to show their disagreement with their employer’s actions.
