Red Shirts Set Date to Rally
The Red Shirted United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship will arrange a mass public meeting in Bangkok on March 14 to insist that the government disband the House of Representatives and call a general election, Veera Musikhapong proclaimed after a meeting of UDD senior members on Wednesday.
Mr Veera said that the red-shirts would commence gathering at a variety of spots all through the kingdom on March 12 before congregate on Sanam Luang in Bangkok on March 14 for the giant rally.
He said the rally was not meant to bring about violent behavior.
Up until March 12, counting this Friday when the assets judgment is delivered, clusters of red-shirts will be free to do as they choose, including meeting to hear the verdict, he said.
Natthawut Saikua, one of the UDD leaders, said he looked ahead to about one million red-shirts to be involved in the protest and insist on a snap general election.
