Supreme Court Ruling Against All Thaksin Defense Assertions So Far
Thai Supreme Court Judges began to read the ruling by outlining the non-contested items and the business ties between Thaksin and his family.
The high court rules by an unanimous choice that the AEC was empowered to take legal action against Thaksin.
Second item is whether legal provisions can be applied to Thaksin in the wake of the coup and the deferment of the 1997 charter. The high court rules that the suspended charter has no effect on law enforcement.
Third legal issue is whether the coup formed the AEC was legally authorized. The high court rules that the coup-issued law is equivalent to an act of Parliament, hence it is legally binding.
All other legal arguments have also been ruled against Thaksin.
