Bangkok Bank Targeted With Hand Grenades
A M26 hand grenade exploded at the Silom Road branch of Bangkok Bank last night and another grenade was found at the bank’s Rama II branch.
Deputy Chief of the Metropolitan Police Bureau Pol Maj Gen Anan Srihiran last night sent police to step up security at all branches of the bank after the two occurrences.
Witnesses told police they saw two men in black riding a motorcycle past the bank. The pillion passenger threw an object at the bank which exploded. Damage was light.
Another hand grenade was discovered at the Rama II branch around 10pm.
A security guard at the bank’s Rama II branch told police that a hand grenade was found in the bank’s car parking area. The grenade was removed by the bomb squad.
