Thaksin Explains Wealth To World Leaders
Thailand’s former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra preparations to send letters to heads of countries internationally to clarify his asset confiscation case, Manit Chitchanklab, a past lawyer for the disbanded Thai Rak Thai party, announced yesterday.
Mr Manit has just come back from a stopover to visit the convicted former politician in Dubai.
He said Thaksin will inform the global community that his affluence was gained from hard work and that he had obtained no justice in this verdict.
The Thai Supreme Court on Feb 26 ruled to confiscate 46 billion baht of ill-gotten assets from Thaksin and his family after finding him guilty of abusing his office.
