Monks Told not to Monkey in Politics
Thai Monks should not become involved in the planned mass anti-government gathering next weekend as it is not their affair, Deputy Prime Minister managing safety Suthep Thaugsuban said on Friday.
United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) core figure Arisman Pongruangrong previous has said Buddhist monks will unite in the red-shirt protest in Bangkok on March 14.

Mr Suthep said he will give details about the political situation to senior monks.

The Ministry of Interior will create checkpoints to detain vehicles coming to the capital to avert the red-shirts from bringing weapons, he explained.

Mr Suthep said he had yet to find if money from the Middle East had been used provide funding for the red-shirt rallies.
