Red Shirts Ramp Up for Raucous But Respectful Rally
Bangkok will experience a mass anti-government rally next weekend that will stretch from Sanam Luang to the Equestrian Statue of King Rama V, and the rally headquarters will be at Phanfa Leelad bridge on Ratchadamnoen Klang road, organizers of the red-shirt United Front for Democracy (UDD) announced on Friday.
They maintain that one million supporters will assemble on March 14, beginning a final row to bring down the Abhisit government.
“This rally will not end until the red-shirts are victorious, meaning the government will dissolve the House,” Natthawut Saikua told reporters. “We will gather in peace and will not resort to violence.”
He announced that red-shirt demonstrators will arrive in farm trucks, widely known as e-tan in northeastern regions, to the city.

The demonstrators will show reverence for democracy and will not create problems for the nation, he added.
