Abhisit Abandons Australian Adventure
Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has called off his official visit to Australia, intended for March 13 to 17, as organizers of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) persist in their claim that as a many as a million backers will join their anti-government gathering this coming weekend.
His choice was broadcast on Monday after the security monitoring commission advised that the Internal Security Act (ISA) should be put into effect in Bangkok and adjoining locales from March 11 to 23.
These regions comprise some areas in Pathum Thani, Ayutthaya and Samut Prakan prefectures.
