Rumor of Thaksin Trouble in Dubai
Thailand’s Foreign Ministry is examining a story that former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has been force out of the United Arab Emirates and is en route to Siem Reap, Cambodia, according to Chavanont Intarakomalsut.
Mr Chavanont who is escritoire to Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya, announced on Friday that the ministry is seeking confirmation.
Panich Wikitseth, aide to the foreign minister, said only that the UAD had pledged not to allow Thaksin to use Dubai as his pedestal for political actions against Thailand.
The report was swiftly denied by Thaksin’s secretary Noppadon Pattama.
Mr Noppadon said the account was false. Thaksin was still in Dubai and did not have any preparation to journey to Cambodia presently, he said.
